Temporary, on-call positions are available for qualified Class D Drivers and Class 3 or 5 Drivers with an Air Brake Endorsement, and experience in driving a 5-ton truck or larger vehicle.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collect, sort and deliver mail items
  • Operate portable communications devices
  • Load/unload a Postal Vehicle
  • Complete documentation and maintain records
  • Communicate with customers and the general public
  • Present Canada Post in a professional manner

  • Maintain and safe guard all mail items and Canada Post property
  • Operate a Canada Post Vehicle and be responsible for the vehicle and cargo safety
  • Maintain a satisfactory safe driving record and the appropriate class of provincial driver’s license
  • Lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50lbs)
  • Meet time schedules

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class 5, 3 or D provincial driver’s license (or higher) with the appropriate provincial air-brake endorsement
• For the past 3 years, held a satisfactory safe driving record (Driver’s abstract)
• Must have experience in a commercial delivery or driving role
• Must have experience driving a 5 ton truck or larger vehicle
• Experience in customer service is an asset
