Job Description

 

The Admin, Disability Management is responsible for monitoring and inputting WCB and ESDC information related to injury on duty into the Incident Management System/other systems. Responsible for processing leave advisals and monitoring for required actions, processing incoming correspondence from ESDC and Workers’ Compensation Board and acts as the Regional Occupational Final Appeal Representative (ROFAR) for short-term disability claims. Provides administrative and clerical support to the Disability Management team and may compile monthly statistics on local and regional disability claims. 
 

Job Responsibilities

 

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Admin, Disability Management.

 

1.    Processes information for inclusion in the Incident Management System (IMS)/other systems in order to ensure the accuracy and availability of information required by regional leaders based on specific knowledge of WCB, ESDC and SAP processes.

 

2.    Receives information from WCB and ESDC and translates the decision into leave advisals for action by Access HR and Team Leads, and input in IMS.

 

3.    Reviews and provides information to WCB on injury on duty hours, as required. Ensures consistency with time and leave data. Provides process coaching to team leaders to ensure data accuracy. 

 

4.    Initiates follow up actions for WCB cases, as required. Ensures appropriate case handling and responses to inquiries.

5.    Provides administrative and clerical support to officers and managers responsible for Disability Management (e.g., scanning and uploading documentation into IMS/other systems, filing, archiving, reporting, operating office equipment, ordering supplies, etc). Identifies time sensitive issues and responds accordingly. 

 

6.    Builds and maintains relationships with both internal and external clients and suppliers (e.g., Operators, WCB, AccessHR, third-party benefit providers).

 

7.    Compiles monthly statistics on accident and other health and safety matters, as required. 

 

8.    Prepares and distributes special reports by accessing, calculating and compiling data on a regional or corporation wide basis within a timeframe/deadline, prioritizing requests as required. 
 

Qualifications

 

Education


•    Completion of secondary school according to provincial standards or equivalent (GED)


•    Completion of post-secondary (College/University) courses may be required

 

 

Experience


•    1-3 years of experience in a fast paced administrative position

•    Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs


•    Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive information 


•    Strong organizational, prioritization and time-management skills  


•    Good interpersonal skills
