Job Description

Reporting to the Inside Sales Manager, the Lead Generator Sales Representative contributes, by generating new high quality sales leads and assigning them to the appropriate sales channel, by identifying revenue opportunities and by increasing customer awareness of products and services. The Lead Generator Sales Representative promotes and supports marketing campaigns and special corporate marketing initiatives.    

Job Responsibilities

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Lead Generator Sales Representative.


  • Develops sales opportunities from the corporation’s marketing campaigns and other special initiatives by making out-bound calls with the purpose of generating new sales leads.


  • Creates new sales opportunities from the Sales Leads Pool with the goal of identifying sales opportunities and transferring the sales lead (customers) to the appropriate sales channel.


  • Prepares customer contracts/agreements, and reviews the terms and conditions with the customer.


  • Ensures all call activity information is captured, maintained and updated in the corporate database system, including customer contact information, market and competitive intelligence and the like.

  • Meets the objectives by planning and prioritizing daily activities to support the achievement of the marketing campaign Return On Investment (ROI) objective.


  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal functional areas such as sales, customer service and marketing in order to facilitate effective communication and collaboration to support the corporation’s sales objectives.


  • Maintains knowledge of Canada Post products, services and rates as well as, ongoing sales activities.  Gains and maintains knowledge of key competitor products, pricing, strengths and weaknesses.  Maintains and continues to gain additional knowledge of effective selling techniques.


  • The Lead Generator Representative will support all Corporate and Line of Business initiatives.


  • High School diploma or provincial equivalent (GED) (Equivalent Experience may be accepted in lieu of a High School Diploma)



  • 2 years’ experience as a Sales Collaborator OR Minimum 1 year Telemarketing or Telesales OR 1 year answering inbound or outbound calls
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. understand the major features of each software application)
