Job Description

The Address Collection and Delivery Engineering Systems team at CPC is responsible for the management and coordination of over 60 corporate systems. These systems have varying degrees of inter-operability with many different stakeholders requesting a variety of system changes ranging from minor enhancements to larger cross functional projects. The Manager plans, designs, develops, implements and maintains systems that support a fully integrated suite of Resource Planning, Geo-network, Mobile Device and Event Management applications at Canada Post. They foster the day to day client relationships while supporting corporate stakeholders with various system change requests through liaising with other engineering system portfolio managers, Innovapost, and other suppliers across the various phases of the system development life cycle.
 

Job Responsibilities

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Manager, Address and Delivery Engineering Systems Management.


• Acts as a lead on address management system related projects. Ensures coordination of resources from multiple teams, develops and maintains project schedules, budget, and risk log. Communicates and coordinates project deliverables and status to project team, executives, and other stakeholders. Prioritizes projects based on business need and team’s capacity.

• Manages and supports a portfolio of corporate systems supporting the Engineering and Operations communities. Acts as a design authority on systems within their portfolio. Works closely with stakeholders to ensure that design specifications and changes meet the needs of the business and the team that they are supporting. Ensures that system changes are adaptable and sustainable in the changing business environment.
• Anticipates and minimizes potential problems through maintaining current knowledge on project status and issue resolution. Resolves issues that arise between project team and client groups, and where necessary escalates to appropriate executive level for resolution.

• Leads a skilled and dynamic team of experts in driving towards process quality and achievement of approved project goals. These experts include Business/System Analysts, UAT coordinators, and proxy product owners. Ensures that the team is properly motivated and has a thorough understanding of the project deliverables, scope, and impact on the Corporation. 

• Defines and develops system changes in coordination with Innovapost & other suppliers for all application system development and enhancement activities by reviewing submitted plans, schedules and estimates and ensuring the proper definition of deliverables and compliance to Engineering systems standards and specifications in alignment with CPC corporate plans & investment process. 

Job Responsibilities (continued)


• Represents Address Management, Collection and Delivery Engineering Systems team at meetings with clients and suppliers to explain current and future plans and evolutions for the systems. This includes collaborating with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, LOB, and Retail to determine system improvements capable of increasing operational effectiveness and resolve issues.

• Manages close relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensures that there is alignment on priorities and that there is buy-in from supporting teams and clients.

• Researches and resolves all software application problems and issues raised internally or externally. Prioritizes fixes and ensures completion of product testing and regression testing prior to engaging clients for user acceptance testing activities. Ensures a complete issue resolution tracking process is in place and utilized.

• Creates a positive work environment and culture, by providing clear objectives and performance expectations for direct reports.  Ensures a continuing development of employees and provides employees with the support necessary to deliver against the expectations of their roles.

 

Qualifications


Education
• Completed post-secondary, preferably in a related field e.g. a degree in Systems / Computer Engineering, Project Management OR a combination of education and work experience.
• College Diploma with 5 years experience in Engineering or IT systems or Processes OR
• High School Diploma with 7 years experience in Engineering or IT systems or Processes.


Experience
• 3 to 5 years of relevant functional experience.
• 2 or more years’ experience in a systems/IT management capacity.
• Experience leading IT/Engineering projects
• Agile Software Development experience
• Scrum Certified Product Owner certification is an asset

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Skilled at creating and maintaining project materials, especially action logs and meeting minutes.
• Adept at delivering power point presentations to upper management.
• Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders to stay on plan and successfully achieve project goals.
• Experience working in a unionized environment an asset.
• Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset
• Occasional travel and work outside of normal hours (evenings/weekends) may be required to support deployment activities
