Job Description


Reporting to the Manager, Address and Delivery Engineering Systems Management, the Collection and Delivery Systems Analyst works in a team of systems/business analysts, UAT coordinators, and Proxy Product Owners who are responsible for design, development, maintenance, implementation, usage, and quality of subsets for a large number of corporate systems.


The Analyst works closely with Operations (field and support groups), Lines of Business, other analysts within the broader team and stakeholders, to ensure solutions are thorough, optimal, meet customer / operational needs and enable future growth. The incumbent will work with Innovapost and other suppliers collaboratively throughout the software development life cycle or hardware procurement through to the deployment cycle to ensure requirements or user stories are defined and certify that all system changes are done in accordance with contract and client specifications.

Job Responsibilities


Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Analyst, Collection and Delivery Systems: 


1.    Coordinates with Innovapost and other suppliers for system fixes to ensure business continuity. Prioritizes fixes (based on cost, efficiency, severity, impact, and time to implement) and tracks performance while managing impacted users/stakeholders. Performance includes application (system) problem resolution speed, break fix severity and quantity. Working with suppliers, tracks hardware performance and breakage statistics and identifies trends.


2.    Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on systems and associated processes. Acts as second level problem resolution point. This includes the processes followed for the hardware (equipment), network (wired and wireless) and applications (system) that supports (Plants, Depots, Retail and Operations support functions) nationally. 


3.    Establishes, documents, and monitors policies and procedures governing collection and use of the data.


4.    Participates in the definition and be accountable for updating the technical specifications for the systems including data models, data flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, process and business flow models using standard corporate tools as well as business analyst skills and tools.  


5.    Acts as the corporate subject matter expert providing first line support and interfacing between users and Innovapost/other suppliers for system changes. Identifies and documents user requirements. Analyzes user requirements and determines impacts.   Prepares the detailed design requirements/acceptance criteria. Provides input, direction, and reviews and approves functional/contextual designs. Supervises the builds.

6.    Performs Regression & User Acceptance Testing (UAT) testing. Coordinates all individuals responsible for UAT. Ensures completion and correctness of all changes associated with improvements and fixes meet the Managed Release schedule and within cost estimates.


7.    Provides guidance and advice to regional Operations LOB and Process Design teams on systems, tools and reporting. Participates in associated projects of a complex and technical nature within and/or outside the function which has or will have implication on Field Systems. Participates on external (Federal, Provincial, International and private sector) and internal committees.  


8.    Leads teams to help identify, develop and deploy Operating improvements to systems. Provides technical support to users in Field Operations, Field Operations Support, National C&D, and external data users. Utilizes this support chain to help identify improvement opportunities associated with the systems (processes, hardware, applications and data) as well as resource members of the team.


9.    Develops related scripts for the contracted helpdesk, trains help desk representatives and monitors effectiveness. Works with manufacturer to ensure hardware meets CPC specifications. 


10.     Keeps abreast of developments in technology and industry and makes recommendations to management for future development and enhancements.


11.     As required, supports the team as a System / Business Analyst, UAT coordinator, Proxy Product owner, technical deployment support resource in Agile and Waterfall System projects based on needs within the team.




•    Completed post-secondary degree in a related field (e.g. Systems/Computer Engineering) OR completion of a College Diploma




•    A minimum of 2 years of experience in Engineering or IT Systems or Processes.

•    Scrum/Agile certification would be an asset

•    PMP Certification would be an asset



Other Candidate Requirements

•    A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with SDLC, Agile development is required.

•    Working knowledge of software development tools and methods, such as: Project Management, Microsoft Access; SQL Server; Microsoft Office products; Android Mobile Operating System; JIRA, Confluence.

•    Must have a customer oriented and business focused mind set.

•    Ability to work as part of a team (internal and external stakeholders) within a fast-paced environment.

•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•    Skilled at creating and maintaining project materials, especially action logs and meeting minutes.

•    Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset.

This is a 9 months term opportunity with the possibility of extension or permanency.


Essential Requirements


Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Process Management.
  • Working knowledge of software development tools and methods, such as: Agile, Project Management, Jira and Confluence
  • Knowledge of Reactive Architecture, specifically Domain Driven Design
  • Knowledge of Redirection Services (RS), Scan to Vehicle (STV), Plant Receiving and Verification System (PRVS) and Supply Chain Quality (SCQ) an asset
  • Knowledge of CPC Lines of Business (e.g. products) and the CPC Supply Chain an asset



  • Ability to communicate effectively, clearly and professionally regarding complex issues and requirements to internal and external customers.
