Job Description

 

The Director, Content Marketing Strategy and Sales Enablement leads a team of experts in content development and the creation of sales tools that support the organization in achieving its business segment objectives for small business and commercial business audiences. The Director will use extensive expertise in content creation and a deep understanding of end-to-end B2B marketing and selling processes to oversee a team that designs, builds and optimizes content assets. This is critical in supporting marketing programs and journeys, and driving cross-channel customer engagement and conversion that enables our commercial sales team’s success.  

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Director, Content Marketing Strategy & Sales Enablement. 

 

1.Plans and executes content marketing strategies and programs targeting business audiences that align with and support Corporate priorities, segment growth strategies, product innovation roadmaps and segment performance targets. Ensures alignment and compliance with CPC’s brand position. 

 

2. Leads a centre of excellence, demonstrating deep subject matter expertise to establish a high impact content marketing program that reflects best practices in product and thought-leadership content curation for the business segment, inclusive of formats, tactics, and delivery strategies.  

 

3. Drives and supports program strategies across Content and Social, working closely with communications, marketing, and digital channel teams to support business objectives for Parcels and Direct Mail.  

 

4. Ensures content marketing strategies reflect and enable the end-to-end B2B marketing and selling process, driving engagement and opportunity within the entire business segment.  

 

5. Applies a deep understanding of business audiences, needs and behaviours to shape curated, insight-driven content programs for both the small business and commercial customer target groups.

6. Shapes, develops and maximizes content marketing and thought-leadership programs. Translates data, market insights and research into key market engagement strategies, tactics and assets that integrate into overall marketing activities. Leverages data-driven decision making to optimize program performance and content asset impact.  

 

7. Collaborates with partner teams within Marketing and across the organization to build engaging market-facing product and service content and selling materials that present value propositions with relevance and strength, driving brand engagement, product adoption and business development opportunities.  

 

8. Champions Commercial Sales team success through ensuring that the Sales organization is effectively supported with a high-impact collateral and sales tool portfolio. Builds a robust tool portfolio that supports prospecting, pipeline development, opportunity conversion and revenue generation. Establishes strong alignment between Sales and Marketing and enables partnered success in go-to-market strategies and programs.  

 

9. Builds and maintains effective relationships with agencies, partners, and suppliers to  contribute to successful marketing programs and campaigns, brand positioning, event strategies and selling activities with the overall objective of growing revenue, and gaining market share. Builds and maintains key relationships internally with Product, Sales, Data, and Commercial Service teams. 

 

10. Leads a team of marketing professionals in a manner that promotes corporate values, leadership behaviours and habits. Empowers and guides team members, establishing an environment that allows for contribution and growth. Creates and fosters an inclusive and collaborative team culture. 

 

Qualifications

 

Education 

 

  • Completed post-secondary degree in a related field such as Business, Marketing or Communications OR a combination of equivalent professional experience and training 

 

 

Experience 

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience with content marketing (editorial & thought-leadership, event content, website content, product value proposition content, B2B selling materials)  

 

  • 3 or more years’ experience managing people 

 

  • B2B marketing experience  

 

 

 

Other Candidate Requirements 

 

  • Excellent team building and leadership skills and experience 

 

  • Excellent writing skills and an outstanding communicator Expertise with Google Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Analytics 

 

  • Experience in creating content design frameworks that allow for dynamic personalization, multi-format adaptability, and data-informed creativity.  

 

  • Expertise in curating optimized content by platform, paid and owned channels  

 

  • Experience working with AI tools for added efficiency and in building hyper-targeted content and dynamic creative optimization 

 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships 

 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
