Job Description

The Mail Processing systems Integration Specialist is responsible for the execution of integration tasks on large-scale mail processing solution deployment projects. Works in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that quality expectations are met as per project requirements and Canada Post quality standards by project work planning, status reporting, defect and issue management and system configuration and administration.  Creates system documentation and training collateral and leads the implementation and maintenance of an automated integration test suite and provides on-site support during testing phases.

Job Responsibilities

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Mail Processing Systems Integration Specialist.

 

  • Possesses a blend of technical skills and an ability to effectively communicate with business professionals to ensure the successful integration and deployment of mail processing equipment for Canada Post Operations.

 

  • Acts as a technical point of contact and subject matter expert of Mail Processing Systems for suppliers and internal project stakeholders during sorter installation project decision making.

 

  • Defines and documents validation and integration requirements based on the business needs and functional change descriptions for sorter deployment projects.

 

  • Executes Integration and Functional Tests during sorter commissioning, which implies thorough testing of sortation system functionality and integration with other solution components (hardware and software) as per the defined requirements.

 

  • Troubleshoots mail processing solution implementation issues, and communicates findings and resolution details to appropriate team members and project sponsors.

Job Responsibilities (continued)

  • Represents Engineering Systems team and provides technical expertise in status meetings with project stakeholders including third party suppliers and project management resources with the ability to escalate issues and identify integration risks.

 

  • Documents integration processes for mail sortation equipment and recommends improvements to project leadership.

 

  • Works closely with other functional teams and resources, such as system architects, system engineers, field services, process engineers and operators to stay current on changes to the sorting solution, deployment approaches and schedules.

 

  • Design, implement and maintain an automated integration test suite.

 

Qualifications

Education

  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering or similar qualifications

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in embedded systems engineering, development, testing or deployment.

 

Other Candidate Requirements

  • Moderate knowledge and experience with :
    • Windows and Linux Operating Systems (server and client), including UWP
    • TCP/IP network protocol
    • Microsoft SQL Server, data management, analysis and querying
    • Programming and scripting languages such as C++/Java, XML/PHP/Python
    • continuous integration software tool such as Jenkins
  • Strong knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies including industry best practice principles in quality assurance and lean methodologies
  • Familiarity in traditional waterfall project management; agile project management knowledge is an asset.
  • Self-disciplined, self-motivated, self-learner and fast-learner
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfort using and learning new technologies
  • Excellent organizational abilities and prioritization skills
