Job Description

The Address Collection and Delivery Engineering Systems team at CPC is responsible for the management and coordination of over 60 corporate systems. These systems have varying degrees of inter-operability which have many different stakeholders requesting a variety of different system changes ranging from minor enhancements to larger cross functional types of systems changes. The Manager, Address and Delivery Engineering Systems Management will plan, design, develop, implement and maintains systems that support a fully integrated suite of Resource planning, Geo-network, Mobile device and Event management applications at Canada Post. You will be responsible for managing the day to day client relationships while supporting corporate stakeholders with various system change requests through liaising with other engineering system portfolio managers and Innovapost/other suppliers across the various phases of the System development life cycle.

Job Responsibilities

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Manager, Address and Delivery Engineering Systems Management.

• Managers is accountable for managing direct report ranging from 1 to 10 employees (consisting of Business/System Analyst, UAT coordinators, proxy product owners).  Create a positive work environment and culture, by providing clear objectives and performance expectations for direct reports.  Ensures continuing development of employees and provides support necessary to deliver against the expectations of their roles.

• Define and develop system changes in coordination with Innovapost & other suppliers for all application system development and enhancement activities by reviewing submitted plans, schedules and estimates and ensuring the proper definition of deliverables and compliance to Engineering systems standards and specifications in alignment with CPC corporate plans & investment process. 

• Represents the team at meetings with clients and suppliers to explain current and future plans and evolutions for the systems. This includes collaborating with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, LoB, and Retail to determine system improvements capable of increasing operational effectiveness and resolve issues

• Researches and resolves all software application problems / issues raised internally or externally.  Prioritizes fixes and ensures completing of product testing and regression testing prior to engaging clients for user acceptance testing activities Ensures a complete issue resolution tracking process is in place.

Job Responsibilities (continued)

• Lead system related projects, ensure coordination of resources from multiple teams, develop and maintain project schedules, budget, risk log.  Communicate / coordinate Project deliverables and status to project team and executives, monitor and escalate issues as required


Project related:
• Provide coordination across AC&D Eng Sys teams;
• Negotiate with team members to set deliverables and dates;
• Develop, maintain Project schedule(s)
• Develop, maintain and communicate project risks and status;
• Monitor and escalating issues;
• Act as a subject matter expert for all System related items linked to the sort, collection and delivery operations processes.
• Any/all other project related matters
• Provide overall stewardship and governance for the Management of the team and ensuring compliance to internal processes




• Completed post-secondary, preferably in a related field e.g. a degree in Systems/Computer Engineering, Project Management or Business Analytics.
• College Diploma with 5 years’ experience in Engineering or IT systems or Processes OR
• High School Diploma with 7 years’ experience in Engineering or IT systems or Processes.

• 3 to 5 years’ of relevant systems experience.
• 2 or more years’ experience in a systems/IT management capacity.
• Agile Software Development experience.
• Scrum Certified Product Owner certification is an asset.
• Experience in leading projects.
• Experience with tracking project performance metrics with regards to quality, budget, schedule and scope

Other Candidate Requirements
• Experience in the following types of projects: I.T. / Engineering
• Proficient in MS Project, Outlook, Power Point and Excel.
• Must have a customer oriented and business focused mind set.
• Ability to work as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Skilled at creating and maintaining project materials, especially action logs and meeting minutes.
• Adept at delivering power point presentations to upper management.
• Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders to stay on plan and successfully achieve project goals.
• Familiar with working in a unionized environment an asset.
• Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset
