As online shopping grows, we have a number of opportunities for qualified Class 1 / A drivers with an Air Brake Endorsement to join our team. As a temporary, on-call Mail Service Courier (Heavy Vehicle), you’ll join a list of drivers that are available to work locally on short notice, on an equal opportunity basis. You’ll haul trailers to/from postal and business locations, and load and unload postal vehicles, ultimately playing an important role in making customers happy.

Job Responsibilities

What will you do?

  • You’ll hitch, check and unhitch trailers, and shuttle them to/from postal loading platforms and parking areas
  • You’ll load and unload postal vehicles while keeping mail items safe

  • You’ll record and acknowledge receipt and delivery of trailers
  • You’ll perform vehicle and trailer safety checks
  • You’ll complete documentation and maintain records

What must you have?

  • A valid Class 1 / A driver’s licence with an Air Brake Endorsement
  • A safe driving record for at least 3 years (recent driver’s abstract required)
  • The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb)
  • The availability to work locally on short notice
  • The ability to communicate with customers and the public in a professional manner
  • The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French
